The formula has good gray coverage and smells good. My skin is delicate but it didn’t irritate my skin at all. The only negative of this color is that it’s too reddish for my taste. I’ve tried other medium browns and all have red tones. It’s more auburn than a brown color. Other than that I’m very pleased.

C'est la toute première fois que je fais une teinture moi même. J'ai pris la couleur brun doré, la teinture est très bien, peut être légèrement trop foncé pour moi, mais elle me va très bien. Je vais tout de même essayer la prochaine fois la couleur châtain foncé doré pour voir la différence. L'emballage est vraiment très bien fait, les produits sont super, après la teinture mes cheveux n'étaient pas du tout sec.
Des produits de bonne qualité. Livraison rapide.

The color specialists will work to find your perfect color. The product is good. It is not as easy to use as the videos make it look. It can be pretty messy. I have stubborn gray hair that frames my face. This product does not color those areas as well as I would like and within three weeks my gray hairs are starting to show a lot. I have extremely sensitive skin and this product does not bother my skin at all. I will continue to purchase this product because for overall hair color it is good, and I can purchase a touch up product from the drug store for less than $10 to get me through until my next coloring; though I do wish they eSalon offered a touch up instead. It certainly saves the two hours and $250 every two to three months that I would spend getting a color or touch up at my hair dressers.

I got my updated kit in Aug. 2023. This time the hair color was much better. The first kit was too much mahogany. The kit has everything you need as always, and the instructions, which you can tape to the mirror as it comes with a little sticky thing, makes it very easy to follow. I have never colored my own hair until eSalon and the first time I did it, a bit of a learning curve on the doing part. Now I feel like a professional coloring my hair. The one thing I highly recommend is to put something down on your bathroom or kitchen counters, depending on where you do the coloring, as the spatter or accidental drop of the color will stain your counter tops. Not easy to remove. When rinsing off in the shower, make sure the bathtub is already wet so the color doesn't stain the tub. And rinse the tub as you rinse out the hair. The one thing I would like them to change is the email to remind you of the shipping. The email should come a week before the shipping date, not 5 days before as not everyone checks their emails daily. At least I don't.

This is a great medium brown, with gold hints and no red or coppery tones, which is the reason I got this color. The only concern I have is that this color does not last as long on roots as I would like. It does fade on the roots after about a week, so I am experimenting with perhaps leaving it on longer than 15 minutes. That doesn't change the fact that its wonderful color for a medium brunette, the trick is in the technique. Esalon has a lot of helpful hints on their site.
Updated on Sep 13, 2023: The solution to the roots problem was to slightly darken the color. That did take care of the root fade problem and the overall gray coverage was better. It didn't lose the gold tinge at all and the shade is not too dark, but this worked. I had almmost given up on getting it right but the colorist suggested a slight darkening and yep - that did it.

Had a conversation with my colorist she recommended a color that was not my choice. She said it would look fabulous. I explained to her my struggles of finding a stylist who knew how to use color properly. Mentioning that I knew that was something she did to match the color. You see my hair for some reason seems to go towards orange or red which I do not like on me. Received my shipment took 2 weeks to finally get my courage to do it to myself. As I massaged as instructed and noticed the color looked on the orange/red. I started to have an anxiety attack even my son who is my ride or die. Started teasing me about the orange color. I just stayed calm initially then after sometime I saw RED.
Son teasing me again. As concerned as I was I did recall there were times when my stylist put the color in and it looked as if it was red/orange but she promised it would match. I held onto that mustard seed faith and told my son I have to wait till after rinse wash and dry to see the true color and I closed my eyes the whole time . I started blow drying it still orange/red. Blowed dryer it more.. than stopped looking. I used the techniques that you had on YouTube... it was easy peasy!! Last but not least the color was spot on !! I was truly grateful for your assistance.

I left eSalon for a year or two thinking it was easier to just have a salon do my hair color. Each time I go, I bring pictures and describe what I want and never get it. I could have gone to my last salon and paid $225 (honestly!! $150/hour and she said it would take 1.5 hours) for color I probably would still be unhappy with. So, I thought why not give eSalon another try - I was always happy with the color. Well, I spoke to a colorist at eSalon and was a little nervous to try this new color but... it is exactly what I wanted. The quality is so good - no itchy scalp and the reps at esalon couldn't have been more patient and understanding with me. I will never leave again!!

My first order was terrible it turned my hair orange. I called they sent another order with different formula. I was looking for Burgundy color this turned my hair orange/red. I thought to myself this is the last time I try and wow the color came out perfect. They did resend all the corrections free of charge and I did appreciate that. This last formula exceeded the expectation I had due to the prior 2 colors. Glad I gave them not one not two chances but three because the third time was definitely a charm!

I'm a month out now from an all over natural brunette coloring. Didn't like the texture of my hair for the first week, so dry. Correctable with treatments at home. Color is good. Grays are trying to shine through, but not enough to bother me. With my second use, i will only use it on my roots.

My first colour was not great but it was tweaked and I go this as my second colour. I love the colour but it does still have a tad of red in it. I can just about live with that amount although I don't love it. However the coverage is excellent and stays put! With shop bought box dyes I was having to colour my hair every 3 or so weeks. I'm 4 1/2 weeks post colouring and I think I'll only need to colour my hair in a week or so. The smell is very strong. I also find the step where you fill the bottle with water and then shampoo it for 3 minutes leaves it pouring into my eyes and it STINGS!!! I can't see how else to avoid this bar having a backwash like a salon. Other than that I can't fault this product!

After following all directions and coloring my hair I had the blahest finish, I had dk blonde copper and a little gold, making it dk.strawberry blonde, was not happy with finish at all! Next day added the toner refresh and next day again after that and had some life to color otherwise ill be discontinueing this color for sure .

Colour matched my current colour. I did find i probably could’ve been done with more product luckily I still had a Previous order so had 2 boxes. Missed the fact you don’t get a brush with it now as I couldn’t find mine.

A little redness on roots but not bad. Maybe a tad bit more brown. Love this though. Thank you. Some little hairs around hair line didn’t cover (white vs grey) but I am sure it is user error!

I like it better than the last one I know I didn't explain what I want the right way I should've said copper. I don't think it's possible to get copper now since I've coloured my natural hair but I'd at least like less brown if I can't get copper. I'm sorry for being such a problem

This is my third set since I started using eSalon and I am finally ready to say I am thrilled with the overall experience. I initially started doing this because my colorist was raising their rates again (again!) and I was just about over it. Add to that parking downtown and the time it took and having to deal with people and traffic and… you understand. Right? Then there is the color. My colorist is great but I was having to go in every eight weeks and even then there was a huge amount of grow out - and my grey grow out is not subtle. I usually spent two weeks wearing scarves and hair bands. Don’t misunderstand, I love my scarves but I t was not a fashion choice. eSalon was going to be too good to be true or it was going to be the savior of my bank account, sanity, and, of course, hair color. Turns out it is all of the above. The color is spot on. I mean PUHR-FEK-SHUN. They even suggested I start with a slightly lighter color because the color I was going for was so much darker than the color I was now. Okay. Sound reasoning. They were correct! I went with the lighter color for a couple of applications then, with the color this week, I went just a bit darker and I adore it. My color is rich and my hair shines with the mahogany reds and browns of my youth (even better actually). And the grey? Covered. I mean covered! I am 56 and I have intense, stubborn grey that is difficult to cover and grows out and seems to throw off color quickly. My color is delivered every six weeks and I only just start looking “dusty” at the roots and around the edges by then. What’s not to love? With each application, my color is refreshed, I don’t have to find parking downtown, there are no people to deal with, and I am spending less than my colorists tip! In my experience, eSalon really is as good as the hype.

Super easy to do, and covers all my grey. its a great colour with excellent shine. I find in my case the colour fades after 3 weeks. I also on my last order it arrived 10 days late because of a courier issue, only after enquiring did I get good service on the status of my colour. I unfortunately had to live with the grey longer than I wanted and would of appreciated a heads up from ESalon on the late shipment.

Realmente no cubrió mis raíces, solo lo oscureció un poco quitando los tonos amarillos. Aunque me encantó el kit y bastó para todo mi cabello. Parece más bien rojo que cobre. La próxima ajustaré mi pedido a ver si llego al cobre 😊

This color is much better than the 1 st color. I am disappointed that the color washes off around my face with 1 st wash. I don’t think it covers the gray as well .

The shampoo that came with the most recent esalon order was different…a clear rather than creamy shampoo. I did not like it. I never use clarifying shampoos. They are drying to my hair.

Belle couleur semi permanente beaux reflets mais il faudra ajuster car c est un peu trop uniforme. J aurais voulu des reflets cuivrés sur les longueurs. Je crois que j aurais du prendre plus acajou que auburn. J attends de voir les modifications possibles pour la deuxième fois. Sinon cela donne beaucoup de lumière à la chevelure terne. À suivre 😉

There’s several things I love about this product. First the color looks natural.
Second, how it leaves my hair shiny, soft, and manageable.
Thirdly, my hair stays healthy and never damaged from over the counter hair dyes. But, what doesn’t work for me is coloring grey hair. About 30% of my hair is grey. The next day the grey hair is visible and having to use an eye pencil to color the grey on the front sides. Next a week after, color fades and more grey uncovered. Would like a longer lasting grey coverage. Furthermore, its too pricey for every 6 months.

I received your product 4/14. And I must say that I was very impressed with the outcome of my chosen color. The only problem is my gray is too aggressive for this product. This is the only color I've tried in the last year. After using the first application, it lasted one week before the gray reappeared. I would like to cancel the subscription at this point and let my hair grow out fully gray. That's first the opportunity to try for myself. I've shared your site with some friends. While I really like having a custom color developed for me, I like the results better! The color is a rich brown that covers my gray completely. I won’t go back to to the same old bottled products.

i am a man with short hair - have you ever thought of making this into 4 or 5 separate applications - i use approximately 1/5th. everything is else is great and i like the product and service but since i need to color every week and a half it feels like there should be an option for smaller applications...

I have not done my own hair in years. I did miss an entire spot on my part so, I just changed my part for the time being and give it a little tease to cover it up when needed. I would like to try and smell the different shampoos to see which one I would like to buy, but I can not get it ordered that way. I am struggling with the website, it must be these grey hairs. I was born before the gene that makes this easy.

I was so disappointed in a hair coloring I had done in a hair salon. It was much darker then I had asked for.
I decided to try eSalon. I took the quiz a few times and I got the color I was hoping would lighten my hair a bit. They ordered me the medium brown (cool beige). Let me start with the process.
It’s fancy. The box is big and it has a lot of moving parts to it. I read the directions 4 times before I started. I choose the brush method. I mixed the color which is extremely viscous and applied it as instructed to my roots. Waited 15 minutes and then applied the rest to the ends. There is plenty of color was short medium hair. Anything longer than shoulder blades will need 2 bottles to apply properly.
When my ends processed the 10 minutes I then took the bottle and included shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Fill the bottle up with water and shake it. Then pour it over your head and massage for 2-3 mins. This part is tricky. It stinks and my nose burned a little at the chemical smell. Then the water ran clear. Applied the shampoo and conditioner and was done.
The result: my dark brown is now a lovely shade of medium brown. It is not completely ashen. It has some gold tones to it but it’s exactly what I pictures. I’m glad I did this and will continue to purchase.
