A great hair colour

I have been using this hair colour for about a year now and it is the only one that covers grey completely. It is possible to adjust the colour if you fancy a change and the results are really good.
My only concern is that using the colour is quite messy and even though I cover as much as I can in the bathroom I still end up with splashes everywhere.

I love the product; esalon colorists have matched my "before-gray" beautifully. But the instructions leave a lot to be desired. No reason is given for different instructions--apparently I'm supposed to spend $20 to color just my roots, now that I've been using esalon for a year. It would be nice if the instructions came with a paragraph explaining the changes.

My first delivery was too dark so I contacted esalon to adjust the formula. The first adjustment still had a little too much brown and purple. My second request has given me the perfect balance of red and brown for a great auburn color!

I really like my color and it is easy to change when I want a bit more red or want to go more brunette. My only complaint is that it is so difficult to get off of the scalp. I scrub and scrub in an effort to remove it. After a week or so, I finally feel that it is completely clean.

I am not a hair person! I just don't know how to do all that stuff but I'm telling you this was almost as easy as washing your hair, the results though were well beyond what I had ever expected, my Daughter who does know what she's doing had dyed my hair red I didn't want to do the upkeep of it so wanted to go back brown, well I've done this before at the salon and it's never easy because they can't take you from red back to brown in one process. Well shame on them because eSalon took me there no problem! I have a lot of grey now that I did not have then as well. I recommend this very much. What a fantastic product and experience!

I will say everything in the package it was packaged beautifully, but my color came out incredibly dark, much darker than I expected. I don't know if I'll try it again and try to maybe a lighter. I don't know what I'm gonna do because my hair is so dark now I mean it's not gonna lighten. I'm probably gonna have to talk to a consultant.

As I previously wrote, each adjustment for my dirty blonde natural hair keeps making it more and more orange. I literally had to do a hair strip which I've never done... that made my hair even more orange. I had to reapply the demi and its a bit better but horrific at the same time.
Your last response you said you saw that I spoke with the stylist and resolved the issues but I still have many charges on my account and so far I hate everything I used. My friend recommended eSalon since my virgin hair had a few grays. Now my hair is completely ruined. I've lost so much trust in the company, stylists take too long to respond and I've contacted you 4x now asking for my money back and I never get a response.
I should have stuck to pulling out a few grays. I miss my natural color. I'm so upset over this, I've lost the little confidence I had in myself.

Normally my roots are dark brown with more red and lighter color on #2. My roots are what normally what my ends would be and the rest of my hair came out dark brown.

Very disappointing experience with my custom color

I have used eSalon because I trusted their personalized colorist service, but my most recent experience was extremely disappointing.
I specifically requested a color that would be slightly lighter than my previous formula, with the long-term goal of gradually transitioning toward a medium blonde. I had also been doing highlights approximately every six weeks for several months to gradually achieve this lighter result.
Instead, the new formula I received made my roots noticeably darker, completely opposite to the direction I requested. I applied the color only to my roots, yet while rinsing, the pigment ran through my hair and visibly darkened my blonde highlights as well.
This has set back months of gradual lightening. I can no longer use the highlighting formula I purchased because I am concerned the contrast would be far too strong.
Even more concerning, I experienced significant burning and discomfort on my scalp during the application, something I had never experienced with my previous eSalon colors. The burning stopped after rinsing, but my scalp remained dry, tight, and itchy for several days.
I also noticed that the amount of developer provided appeared unusually small, and the mixed formula was extremely thin and watery compared with my previous eSalon colors.
I have contacted eSalon and requested a complimentary color correction and a proper solution for the scalp irritation, along with professional guidance for the hair shedding and damage I noticed following this coloring.
I am very disappointed because I carefully followed the instructions and had spent months gradually working toward a lighter blonde. Instead, I feel that I have been moved several steps backward and am now dealing with both an unwanted color result and scalp irritation.
I hope eSalon takes responsibility for this situation and provides a complimentary color correction and appropriate scalp-care solution, rather than requiring me to spend additional money fixing the problem.

I was notified by email that my order was being delayed due to using Amazon as the shipping method. When I called with my concern and complaint I got brushed off and told that I have just been lucky in the past with getting my orders quickly, and repeated several times that the delayed time frame was still within their 3-5 business days (actually pushing 6), so I had nothing to complain about. The CSR was very cold and non-sympathetic. She finally agreed to waive my shipping fee for my next order, but this was strictly a one-time courtesy. She did not make me feel like a loyal customer since 2014.

I colored my hair yesterday. I don't know what happened but it was not light golden blonde. It's light blonde absolutely no gold visible at all. The last orders have been exactly what it's suppose to be. This one not at all it's completely lacking any gold and looks like it's faded all ready. I am very disappointed. Also I have not received any reminders that my color is being prepared. So the last two orders came out of my bank account with no notice. I can not make changes if I receive no reminder.

Figured this would be way better than buying box dye at the store- with the promise of a colorist reviewing everything. But I definitely did not achieve the color I was looking to achieve. Should’ve just gone with my usual cheap box dye. It definitely colored my hair but only if you’re trying to go maybe one or two shades lighter or darker is it worth it.

I did not like the color on the second use. I have been coloring my hair at home for 15 years and this was the most uneven it's ever been. I had to re-dye 2 sections of my hair 3 times with the minimal remaining dye as it was stripy and uneven. Even after redying it multiple times, it still is uneven. The color this time also was slightly less red and more brown. I'd prefer it to have been closer to the original color.

This would have been really convenient if the color didn't fade so fast and if it always came with a bottle for the roots and ends like the initial order does but unfortunately it only comes with the bottle to do your roots and being that it fades so fast, just doing the roots isn't sufficient as you'll end up with different colored roots and ends.
If it came worth 2 bottles each time at this price I would have continued to order it but as it is, it's not worth the money.

The packaging looked amazing, which initially impressed me. However, my grey roots didn’t take the color at all.,they stayed completely grey. I don’t understand why it didn’t work, especially since I followed all the instructions carefully. I’m really disappointed with the results. 😔

Although I was hopeful of this product the initial colour was ok...not as ritch or vibrant as I had requested. It did cover my grey but the colour has faded really quickly after only a couple of washes with high end shampoo (no sulphates etc)
I won't be purchasing again

I order this after thousands of positive review but it was my worst decision ever .Instead of turning my hair into chocolate brown it turned into full black .My hair become very thin and are breaking from roots only after one use .very disappointed.

This site will not let you close your account or remove your credit card information. Even after years of not ordering Someone tried to get into my account and I changed the password and tried to remove my personal information or close the account and it would not allow me to do that. ...so it does not matter to me if the product was good or not as the ordering site is obviously not secure . I have tried these products twice now and apparently the 2nd time they changed the colour of the formula to be lighter (as requested by me) but again, it’s barely changed the colour of my hair. I wanted to go light brown and it’s nowhere near. Disappointed with these products !

Unfortunately, the hair color was only vibrant for a few days. The grays came back very quickly, and it was a little brassy on my brown hair with red undertones. I did go in and revise my order for the next month and provide feedback, so I'm really hopeful that my second order will deliver more of what I need and want for my hair.

My hair was BRIGHT RED with this set. I had to purchase clarifier and green shampoo, it was embarrassing red. I then had to buy an ash light brown over it to calm down brassiness and red color.

No fault with product, very impressed by product actually. What put me off this is that I was automatically put on a flex plan, and charged for a colour 2 weeks after I had received 1st colour set . Was completely shocked when seen it arrive in post, checked account, money taken . No emails about this flex plan, automatically applies when you place initial order.

This harsh color absolutely ruined my hair. It was supposed to be medium brown and colored it so dark it is nearly black. It was so dark and stained everything in sight so I was worried and washed it out after less than 10 minutes, even though the instructions said 35 minutes. I will have to have it professionally corrected now and I am worried about the damage it will take to lighten hair this dark. Somehow it also took all of the shine out of my hair and made it look drab and dull. I have colored my own hair for years and have never had anything stain my shower instantly like this. There was something wrong with this mix. I would give negative stars if possible.

In the pass i tried your product but i noticed that was not covering totally my gray and I stopped using it, I continued with the store brand but my hair was falling off a lot and I decided to go back to esalon.
Now that I tried for the 2nd time, I notice my gray still not completely cover and I requested something more for stubborn gray. Im still waiting.

My last orderer was the 3rd box in less than 6 months with seals broken and product leakage inside the box. I've used this service for several years & had great results until the last 6 months. Along with losing product, the color hasn't been consistent & has washed out of significantly size patches of hair within 2 or 3 washings.

Lovely colour but didn’t last as long as I’d hoped and much too fiddly to apply roots first then colour. I’ve also never seen so much hair dye on my bathroom tiles and I’ve been dying my hair for years! For me, it’s not worth an extra £15 more than a supermarket box dye.

I purchased my advised colour however when I used it I felt the coverage wasn't great. I am a brunette and have quite alot of greys for which I colour about every 3 weeks. At my roots the colour was alittle orange and the rest dark. Left on roots the recommended time and abit longer but didn't get the best result. Condition of my hair was great afterwards but not so great looking 😕

Originally I sent in pics of my current hair color (very dark brown almost black) and pictures of the color I wanted, a much lighter shade of brown like a honey brown. My custom color came in the mail labeled something like “golden brown” and I thought this is going to turn out nice then I dyed it and it literally looks like I didn’t, maybe one shade lighter at best if I’m in the sun I can notice a tad bit of brown. I even left the color in for an extra 15 minutes longer than the 35 minutes the instructions said. I went to change my next months custom color and again inserted pictures of the lighter brown I wanted but get an email saying “ previously colored hair can not be lightened”, well if I would have gotten the correct color hair dye sent to me the first time I guess I wouldn’t have this issue. I just went ahead and canceled because I’m not happy with the new options they gave me, stuck with the same color or just lighten the roots? No thanks.

Only my 3rd time coloring my hair, but I felt as though I should’ve kept it in longer then 30 minutes. There was still a lot of gray hair that I felt as though it didn’t even touch, although it was on my entire head. The hair in front is my problem area.

I loved the color initially. It was even looking and the perfect copper color. but after two weeks it’s brown again and my grow out still didn’t hold the dye so it’s also visible like it was prior. It just looks like it completely washed out and is back to the way it looked before I dyed it.
