I have been searching for a good home hair color to save money from going to the salon. I think Allure Magazine endorsed this product. I have been using it for the last 6 months to cover my gray hair which is 50%! One of your colorists helped me find the perfect formula. The product is delivered monthly. The quality is excellent, priced reasonable, directions good and easy to use and unlike some other home hair color products it does not leave my hair dry and brittle but shiny and beautiful!

This custom hair color is awesome, far beyond my expectations. The instructions were easy as 1, 2, 3. I was concerned about the amount of gray hair I had, but it disappeared and every strand was evenly colored. The color matching was exactly what I requested. My regular hairstylist was impressed and thought I had my hair professionally colored. There are only 5 stars but I'm giving this product a perfect 10!!

My hair color has never looked better. My hair is soft and shinny. And its easy and fun to do. It never feels dry or straw like which can happen with store bought hair color kits. I'm impressed and that's not easy to do. I'll be a returning client for as long as need be. And they always keep you updated and you always know when your new color kit is arriving. I love the color. After you're done your hair does not feel like straw it's nice and soft and manageable. I also like the shampoo and conditioner that they put in the packages.

As I brand my hair is in great condition and the colour really stays. For me it was far far to dark and have been trying to wash it out with clarifying shampoo so that its becomes lighter again.

Cannot review this order since the bottle will not open. Total waste of $33+ I had four people try to get this open and no one could. It’s like it’s fused together. There is absolutely no opening it. Had everything set up and couldn’t do it. So disappointing

Je suis ravie de ma première expérience excepté le bémol des cheveux blans à la racine survenus après 8 jours de pause. (Je suivrais votre conseil pour la prochaine application à savoir le temps de pause à prolonger ).
Je prépare ma prochaine couleur je souhaiterais les éclaircir avec soit des mèches lumineuse qui éclaircieraient mon visage, soit une couleur lègèrement plus claire.

REALLY!!! This color always looks great and doesn’t fade but after two weeks I’m seeing the color fade lighter than the rest of my other previous colors. I hope my next order is back to previous quality.

I didn't notice a difference in my hair colour after use. I've dyed my hair at home previously and followed all the instructions, but the dye didn't take. Wanted to love it! Customer service was great.

Contrairement à la garantie de livraison rapide j'ai attendu presque 2 semaines.
Ensuite par rapport à la coloration, mes cheveux blancs sont réapparu après 2 lavages...et il y a une différence entre les racines et les longueurs.
Je n'ai pas trouvé de différence avec ma couleur initiale ni de brillance !

Bonjour. J’ai bien reçu la formule de ce mois-ci avec le changement (même couleur mais sans ammoniac) que vous ont fait après la réaction que j’ai eu avec la dernière formule. Je suis très insatisfait du résultat. La couleur de la racine est complètement différente de la couleur de la longueur. La racine est blonde foncée et la longueur est complètement orange. Je vais devoir décolorer mes cheveux pour enlever cette horreur. Je ne peux même pas sortir dans la rue de honte. Je vous demande de me contacter svp , mais un vrai spécialiste pour régler ce problème là .Cette nouvelle formule a été réalisée sans aucune connaissance des couleurs .Pas d’harmonie entre la racine et la longueur. Je n’arrive pas a poster ici la photo do désastre mais vous l'avez plusieurs dans mon dossier. Je ne comprends pas ce que se passe avec cette Enterprise depuis 2 ans. Avant le service étais super, avec des vrais professionnels et lá….Comment est il possible avoir une tel différence entre racine et longueur. Depuis des années satisfait de vos travail, mais la, l’horreur !!! Je suis vraiment innervée !!!

Sadly this has been an ongoing problem in the past despite my notes to my colorist, even after adjustments. My roots are dark and my ends are bright bright bright orange. I would like to think I can provide my results and pictures and trust that the colorist is making adjustments correctly. That does not seem to be the case and it’s getting worse. I truly love the idea of managing my own hair color and touch ups rather than going to a salon but I’m at my wits end.

However, the color was darker than expected, resembling a deep brown rather than the anticipated soft chocolate tone. The ash and mahogany nuances were less visible, resulting in a predominantly dark shade.

I like E salon in almost every way, except that the color isn't exactly as I want it.
However, I will say that I will continue to order this color (it's almost there!) because I love the ease of ordering.
The shampoo and conditioner is fabulous and my hair doesn't feel dry after coloring.
I like how everything is custom labelled.
Most importantly, it doesn't irritate my scalp so I presume there's not too many nasty chemicals in there, which is one of my main reasons for purchasing.
I always go with Natural color tints from a health store.

I picked my new color off of the chart opting for the Darkest Brown in hopes to just had a little red/copper to my color however with how much it lightened it’s as if I select the Dark Brown in the same red/copper tone. Definitely lightened way more than I wanted.

I love how if I don’t like the color a colorist will listen to me and adjust to my liking. ESalon is really the best all the way around. Unlike most hair coloring products it has a mild fragrance and my hair feels great looks great!

J'aime la couleur avec ses reflets. Elle est conforme à mon souhait, ni trop foncée, ni trop clair.J'en suis aujourd'hui à 3 couleurs faites mais ne suis toujours pas satisfaite de la couverture des cheveux blancs. Couleur refaite hier et une couverture en transparence.
J'ai apprécié le contenu du set.
La qualité des produits me semble bien. Laisse un cheveu doux.
Je pense que je vais essayer autre chose et suspendre l'abonnement.

I really liked that my hair did not have a "pink" tint after coloring. The "strawberry" color did not seem to last, however and I was left with mostly blond. The color that I was previously using, L'Oreal 8RB Medium Redish Blond mixed half & half with 8G Medium Golden Blond, resulted in what I thought was a pink tint for about a week, but then transformed in to a great mix of strawberry and blond locks. I want to keep the latter without the week of pink.

El kit es muy bueno! Realmente no me dura mucho , con el primer lavado las canas ya se ven mucho más claras y tengo que usarlo cada 3 semanas, divido en 2 y solo me paso en las raices. Me gustaría que dure más para no dañar tanto el cabello.

I loved how everything was packaged, easy to follow instructions… this was my first time trying and really made a mistake trying something new right before a trip. I followed the instructions completely but ended up with brass colored roots! For context my hair is black and I was supposed to receive a blue black. And I lost so much hair in the shower to top it off! I have been dying my own hair for years and never had an issue. I spoke to a hair professional and she said no way I received true blue black color as my roots wouldn’t have turned this color. I usually don’t write reviews especially bad ones but felt the need to say something. I submitted internal review and reached out to help via message (the page says high call volume) waiting on response.

I love the formula and step by step instructions. The custom shade made my hair a more true version of my natural colour.
I am bummed out the roots demi permanent colour did not cover greys very well.
I don't know if I should leave the root formula on for longer to process. Help!

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It took awhile for me to adjust doing my own hair coloring. I stopped going to salons when I realized I was spending over $2,000 a year on salon visits. Using eSalon wasnt working at first on my gray roots, after discussing with them the adjustments they made have been very successful!! I am vey happy with this product! I can work and do house chores as the coloring processes instead of spending 3 hours away from home at a salon! A win win for me!

First I want to thank my colorist for correcting my mistaken belief that beige was a cool color. She has advised me and in the future I would like to go more ash. Thank goodness she was there and my future color will be improved!

Loved the convinance of haircolor being customized on line, and shipped every 5 weeks to my home. The color faded too quickly, but called CS and they wrnt shade darker. Love ❤️ this stuff.

I loved how natural the color looks and how close it is to my original hair color, but I'm wondering if there's something about red curly hair that takes dye differently? I just colored it with this and followed all directions 2 weeks ago, and I'm already seeing greys. Please advise. Thank you.

I was so excited to finally color my hair with Esalon as it was a custom color formulated especially for me! I even sent pics of my hair so what could go wrong? Well, everything did. I am a natural blonde turning gray with natural and added highlights. I go to a salon to highlight my hair 2 to 3 times a year and have only used Claroil Perfect 10 at home to cover my greys in between my highlights. Perfect 10 left my hair incredibly soft and shiny and accented my highlights. Sadly it was discontinued and I was hoping Esalon would take its place. As soon as I finished my first 20 minutes of coloring I could see my hair getting darker but I still hoped for the best. After I rinsed my color and used the enclosed shampoo and conditioner, my fine hair was extremely dry and impossible to comb out. I then rewet my hair and applied a deep conditioner for 15 minutes which helped comb out my tangles and restored some softness. I literally burst out in tears when I dried my hair. The color was not what I expected at all. It was the darkest shade that my hair has ever been and the color is now somewhere between dark extreme ash blonde and light extreme ash brown with orangey tones; it's horrible! My hair was one of my finest feature and every time I look in the mirror I get extremely upset. This whole ordeal was devastating and I do not know how I am going to get through the holidays as a quasi-brunette. Will my friends and family even recognize me as when I look in the mirror , I don't.

Love the kit- Second time I have problems opening the bottle.

I'm going to add my experience with the two last kits I received, first one I had a hard time opening the blue cap bottle and I had to ask my husband to do it and he had problems too, it was a mess and I lost time and couldn't use the whole mix. Now the second time is the same but I can't get help opening the bottle so I stuck with all the prep work and waste of time because of this, I'm very upset because it is my ME time and I have so few of those, completely ruin my day and I can't even color my hair, I hope you take care of this issue because I don't think I'm the only one.

I really love my color, looks really natural and it has the golden tones I wanted. As a first time, the kit is different from the box you buy at the market but I enjoyed the experience of taking my time to make it just right, it is a lovely presentation and all the personal details make you feel special. I got an email asking about the results and I'd say it is totally worth it.

I really liked the color they sent and it was easy to apply. I had my daughter help so I didn't miss anything. Ever since I have used it though my hair is extremely dry no matter what I do to it. Very reluctant to color any time soon,

Everytime I have used the priduct my hair falls during the process. Not in clumps, but it is a decent amount. I am jot saying that this is common, but it jusst doesn't seem to be. Great fit for me.

I wanted so badly to like this, I was so excited to add a coppery tone to my medium brown hair.
Let me also start by saying that as a brunette, I knew the colour wouldn’t be a vivid ginger. However, this product somehow managed to not only transfer hardly any colour at all, but has in fact made my overall hair darker! I wanted a warm, gingery copper, and made a note asking please don’t give any purple or wine tint.
But that’s exactly what I got. My hair is now even darker than before and in the light it is dark purple! The directions were also misleading, and maybe this is where I went wrong. The roots needed 15 minutes to develop according to my instructions, but I have a lot of hair so it took me a long time to actually finish with them anyway. And then, it took me longer than 15 minutes to coat my ends, so by the time I had, I was worried about my roots over developing and yet there was no information/time to let my ends saturate.
I’m so disappointed, I was so excited for a new change. I want a refund.

I ask for a color to match the white gray coming in and was colored a blonde instead. Lately the colors have not been the best shades. But I just use it as I do not have the time to do all this reporting.
But I have seen a difference as when I first started. Not soo happy anymore.

The color was a perfect match. I colored on May 3rd. Gray already coming back. Didn't last 6 weeks, barely made.
7/19/2022: I received the the color and dyed my hair. This one works perfectly for me. The adjustment made to my personalized color was great. I would recommend eSalon to anyone that would like to use a color perfectly designed for them.
ADDENDUM:
I colored my hair again on July 9th withthelatestadjustmentmade to my color. I thought the color was supposed to last for six weeks, it barely made 3 weeks. Can't even part or pull back my hair without grays. I still have 1 to use, but it's the same as the one I just used. I think I'll just go back to what I've been using.

I've been a long time customer and at first I thought it was my imagination but I can see that the formula has definitely changed. Barely covers my gray hairs any more and the color used to last 3 to 4 weeks, now I'm lucky if it lasts 2 weeks. Unfortunately, it's just not the same. I hate to leave a negative review because you got me through the pandemic without having to show my gray hair growth. Thank you for that. I will also say your customer service is amazing!

I was super excited to try this product because I have had a positive experience with their at-home highlights kits! I have been washing my hair with salon-quality shampoo and conditioner made for colored hair, but my color is still viably washing out of my hair. My scalp and top sections have lightened significantly since using the permanent color on my hair. I will have to touch up my hair sooner than I expected.

Kit was well organized. My hair is long, down to my waist and I needed the help of another person. Definitely need to order the cape next time as I got dye on my chair and towel. Color was ok but not perfect. Roots needed to be a bit darker and less brassy. I thought the color for the ends refresh was perfect though. Will adjust coloring for next time.

I decided to try eSalon after a lot of debate, I’m in my early fifties so have some grey, my natural hair colour is mousey brown so have not been my natural colour for about 4 years due to my greys, I’m now an ash blonde, so I ordered a medium ash blonde as I jump between medium and light ash blonde that way I get my perfect colour all year round
I followed the instructions to the letter and found it easy enough to apply so far so good 😊 love the box and how it’s laid out looks very personal unfortunately I now have a beautiful medium golden blonde colour which if I’d ordered golden blonde I’d be very happy with the results, it’s very rich and shiny but this is not the colour I ordered, my friends and family said it looks lovely but I ordered and wanted medium ash blonde,
There is definitely no ash in this colour I now have, and I’m going to have to use my blonde shampoo to remove the red, please be careful what you order as it’s obviously a gamble as to what you’ll end up with!
I won’t be buying again and will be going back to JF as I’ve never had a bad colour for him, quality quantity worth the price but colour result is definitely not !

Loved this product at first. Would have recommend it to anyone. I got the exact color I wanted. no burning or scalp irritation, easy to apply, the packaging is so cute. But…… after several months of use (every 6 weeks to 2 months I would do my roots) IT FRIED MY HAIR!!! ITS LIKE STRAW!!! I then realized that with continued use it kills your hair. So at first it looked great because my hair was already really healthy. Now after several applications it’s dead, fried. Had better results with L’Oréal and Clairol. And it was less expensive. Canceled my subscription.

I had such high expectations, particularly as my hair is quite lightened anyway. Much darker than expected, have discussed with customer services, and re-formulating colour.
However condition was lovely, and super easy to apply! Will review once my reformulation has been created, and I have tried.

I had a salon colour and roots were growing in (hi covid)... I decided to give this a try. They suggested demi permanent. After 2 washes I could notice my roots again. After 3 - my roots are back. :(
They are less noticeable than prior to coloring but definetely noticable.
The good news is - I made no mess on my skin (my stylest stains my skin and clothes so this was greatl!) (because they provide you with protection!!)
Packaging makes this easy and specialized.
This was worth a try. I will see if I can get something more permanent or refresh with the second containers they add on the first order (in case u have lots of hair).
Great price but the price doubles after the first order.
I would give it a try.

The color is great! I'm very pleased with that part. The actual gray coverage didn't seem to take as well this time. I followed all of the instructions and tried to target the gray patches first, but the coverage wasn't nearly as good as my previous bottle.

Fatta oggi la tinta, mi ero preoccupata non arrivasse per via del ritardo rispetto alla data prevista ma è arrivata, forse ho scelto un colore troppo scuro ma oggi non c'è sole quindi non rende i capelli bianchi tutti spariti sono molto contenta adesso manca solo da constatare la durata, per ora sono molto soddisfatta.
Purtroppo dopo la felicità iniziale nel giro di due settimane avevo nuovamente i capelli bianchi non per ricrescita, ma proprio si sono stinti alla fine mi costa quanto andare dal parrucchiere la sua tinta non va via e aspetto la ricreacita

I specifically asked for an ashy light brown what my hair is is orange brown and this was on new growth with no color on it to affect the color application. The process is easy and the product box, instructions and application items are good quality.

Best mixed root color I’ve ever had! I’ve just got highlights added and my hair stylist exclaimed that the root color was an exceptional match to my highlights! Blended perfectly. Thanks you to my personal hair colorist.

I was really excited to try this product. I have some experience lightening and dying my hair at home as well as going to the salon, so I thought this would be the perfect happy medium between the two.
I uploaded a couple pictures, and thought I provided all the right details. I even mentioned I'd likely be trying to refresh my own balayage highlights with the product. I had picked something copper-blonde, while my hair is currently medium brown with some grown out highlights. I see now they have a clay-based lightener product, and that is definitely what I should have went with. Although you would think my "personal colorist" would have reached out with that option since I mentioned it. I didn't hear from her except for a "hope you like your color" in my email that my product had shipped.
I was worried right away when I received the product. It came with only a 20 volume developer. That didn't seem like it would be strong enough to turn medium brown hair to a blonde. But I decided to trust the process!
Unfortunately I was right. The hair color actually darkened my hair! I think since it wasn't a strong enough developer, my hair didn't really lighten, while the coppery color that was deposited was darker than my natural hair color, and especially got rid of my highlights. Even though the color said it was a blonde, I definitely have brown hair, so I was surprised that it darkened. I was hoping worst case that it wouldn't be noticeable change. I double processed some sections of my hair to get a tiny bit of highlighted copper color, but it's still barely noticable and darker than it was before. Considering they were old highlighted sections, those should have been too light if anything!
The concept, website, and packaging was all very cute. Unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired in actual function. I could have done better myself without waiting for shipping by going to the drug store and picking a random blonde box dye.

This is the first time it didn't colored my roots. I colored it exactly like all the times. The ends are a nice color.

My last color I was not as happy with . My fault the first mix was perfect. I have been looking for the perfect color for me I just can't seem to get it right. The colors and the packaging are beautiful. I will recommend to anyone I know who uses color. I simply can't afford it but I am also impatient and don't want to wait to long to color again. Thank you for everything.

I love the colour and the way it makes my hair look. The problem I had was my gray hair wasn't completely covered. I followed the instructions and I am wondering should I leave it on longer than 30 minutes? I will give it one more try and see what happens. I really would like to continue using this product.

Great product I love it! Absolutely love it, so 5 stars for that!! but I'm still waiting for it!!! shipped April 6th, when I last checked earlier today, its still in Montana, so its going to be awhile yet considering I live in wisconsin, that's why 3 stars.

My review I really love that esalon hair color does not dry out ur hair that if using other hair color products & I have used many due to drying & breakage. Hair always looks shining & alive not dead dry hair looking like dried dead plants or weeds. But hopeful that we can get excellent gray longer lasting coverage & not turn rest of my hair blk. Thank you
