No different than store boughtI was very disappointed in the product I received, I've been using over the counter products for years that do not have ammonia in them. I tried the e-salon brand because of the reviews. My scalp felt like it was on fire the entire time and it did not cover my greys at my temples. They will override your choice with the picture you shareMy natural hair color is light brown. I go between adding red highlights in the fall and winter to adding carmel and blonde highlights in the spring and summer. I was going for carmel. Chose a color. They asked me to upload a picture I did. Unfortunately it was one take in the fall and so although I chose a blonde color they sent me red color. Love it!I absolutely love my color. I was using box color. Then i went to Madison reed but my grey never covered well and my hair felt like straw and I never had a beautiful shine to it. I found esalon and I was nervous. I loved the step by step instructions. Everything about it was adorable. I applied using the brush bowl method. After coloring then washing my hair I felt the difference already. It was soft. Next day looking at it in the sun I had even coverage throughout my hair. Beautiful colorI am so pleased with the way my color turned out, my colorist really worked with me to get the color I wanted. I was nervous, thought it might look flat, boring, too dark or too warm, but it was shiny, felt healthy, and DOES have some dimension even though it was "just" a simple dark blonde with a neutralizer added in. I may adjust it to add just a bit more neutralizer in the future, but will wait a few more washes then discuss with my colorist for an expert opinion. I had thought I needed to pull the color through my ends, but was told this wasn't needed, again I was nervous for an uneven result, but was given instructions for the blend and it worked perfectly! I only color about 1x every 3 months, and use root sprays in-between, so I have a lot of regrowth, so my only issue ended up being that I didn't have enough color to super saturate my roots, and had some gray escapee's...I will try to figure out how to add a little more color to my future orders, but this was the only issue. Color made Easy!The kit supplies you with everything you need including gloves and shampoo. The colorist suggested light brown instead of the medium brown I had chosen. She was absolutely right!
