Horrible experience, poor customer service, and a total scamSo I'm pretty experienced at dying my own hair I saw an ad for eSalon I figured it couldn't be riskier then boxed dye so I gave it a shot. My hair is naturally light brown/dark blonde and I hadn't dyed my hair in a LONG time so that was the shade I was at when this adventure started. I selected my desired shade as a light to medium cool blonde. Things arrived in a timely manner. I followed the directions to the letter. My hair was minimally lightened (maybe by one shade) and SUPER brassy. Considering I indicated I wanted a cool blonde, this was unacceptable. I notified esalon and they responded by giving me a credit for my next color and sending me a toner to help with the brassiness. I have never had this happen with a toner before but it didn't just decrease the brassiness but it also darkened the overall shade of my hair. So now my hair is more or less back to its natural color except with lingering brassy undertones (which I still hate). When it was time for my next color shipment I uploaded new pictures of my hair so they could see the current shade and indicated I wanted the color to be lighter and cooler (like the color I had originally selected). In the comments section I outlined the whole situation up to this point including the lingering brassiness and the darkening effects of the toner. After my new color was formulated and it was too late to cancel it I get an email from my "stylist" stating that the color can't be lightened because color can't lift color (duh) but if I want my hair lighter I would be a "great candidate" for their lightening set and that I could purchase that from their website. Love it!I’ve coloured my hair a few times in the past but usually go to a hairdresser and spend upwards of £100. With the current lockdown I decided I’d have a change and do it myself ( as well as cutting it myself!). I saw this advertised and thought I’d give it a go. I usually highlight my mousy brown hair but it has been a bit patchy recently and I didn’t like it. I have always wanted to go copper and decided to go for it. I chose intense copper and did it last week. I really love the colour. It feels so soft and healthy which it hasn’t for a while now. It was really easy to do as well. It didn’t come out as coppery as I had hoped. I emailed and am now getting a new colour to put on to enhance the copper tone in my hair. I totally get that everyone’s hair is a different level of porosity ( is that a word!) and you never know how it will come out! I’m so happy that the customer service is such that you detail what you want to change and they get straight back to you and change it. I am sure that I will get the copper colour I want next and I’ll maintain with the tint rinse and colour care shampoo and conditioner. Color matchOverall I have been very pleased with my orders. However the last order did not have the same amount of product I had received before, which I can break up into 2 uses, and the cost was increased. from a little over $20. to $27.+ I would like some pink added to the red composition if possible as it holds my color longer. NOT the right color AT ALL and I had a HAND FULL of hair FALL OUT!The color smelled great but then when we used it all was good until washout time and I had handfuls of hair falling out and then when I finally got it conditioned (which what they gave me was nowhere NEAR enough for the job it did on my hair). I had to use all kinds of special conditioners to add to what they gave me to cover all the rats and big hunks of hair stuck together in a big not to try and loosen them. I also had to use a leave-in conditioner after I got out of the shower to be able to PICK through my hair cause no way was a brush going through it without ripping even MORE hair out! The color is NOT right it was supposed to be red and it has spots of blonde in it and I am just very disappointed. I thought this would be the BEST in hair color, I guess I was REALLY bad wrong!
