Color was perfect, process was too complicatedHaving a hair color formulated just for me is fantastic. My custom color is Darkest Brown with Red Mahogany Gloss. After receiving my color and reading the instructions, I found the process too complicated for me to do. I waited for a month before giving this a try. Anyway, I mixed the Hair Color of the first bottle and I applied it as indicated to my roots. I was surprised this didn't have a strong smell. Then, I followed to apply the Enhancing Gloss of the second bottle to my ends. This one was too strong and bothered my eyes. I finished applying it as quickly as I could. I followed by cleansing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner that came with. The Stain Guard and Stain Remover worked perfectly. It's been five weeks and my gray hair is starting to show up. Beware of Lightswept highlightI love esalon custom hair color and was so excited to get a highlight kit too. Beware that if your hair is medium brown to dark your first application will turn hair orange.
